OMAHA, NE – Machaela Cavanaugh and her husband Nick Brotzel are delighted to announce the birth of their son, Barrett Lee Brotzel born on July 10, 2018 weighing in at 8 pounds 15 ounces.
Barrett joins his sisters Della 4 and Harriet 3.

“I am proud to officially submit my name for the office of Nebraska’s Legislative district 6” Cavanaugh said. “I am running because the people of my district, and across the state, deserve to have representatives who will put problem solving over partisanship. Our state is facing significant fiscal challenges. Now, more than ever, we need to work together to find solutions to these challenges, but not at the expense of the education of our next generation.”

LD6 resident Machaela Cavanaugh remains the most qualified applicant and Governor Ricketts should act quickly to appoint Cavanaugh to fill the seat.
OMAHA, NE -- Machaela Cavanaugh, an Omaha native with an extensive record in public affairs and community engagement, has submitted her application to fill the vacant District 6 seat in the Nebraska Legislature. Governor Pete Ricketts announced on September 6 that he is seeking qualified applicants to fill the vacancy.
Legislative District 6 includes voters from Central and West-Central Omaha.
